First Design Hotel opens in Croatia | Design Middle East

Hotel Lone launched a few weeks ago in Rovinj, a town in Istria (the most northern part of Croatia). The hotel is Croatia?s first member of Design Hotels; a contemporary building, with the exterior resembling a white ocean liner, in reference to the hotel?s Adriatic location.

All 248 rooms, including 11 suites have views of the coast and the hotel?s business facilities combine minimalism, elegance and state-of-the-art technology with four large auditoriums and three large meeting rooms featuring high ceilings and wide spaces.

In addition to the hotel architecture, virtually all the interior design elements were created especially for Lone.

The furniture was designed by Grupa Numen/For Use, the textile d?cor by the I-GLE studio, the artistic installations in the hotel are works by artists Ivana Franke and Silvio Vuji?i?, and the hotel?s visual identity was created by the agency Bruketa & ?ini? OM.

There are five different types of rooms ? Superior, Premier, Grand, Deluxe and Family, and four types of apartments ? Gallery, Executive, Lone and Junior.

All rooms and suites include a spacious balcony, while the suites offer both a view over the Adriatic Sea and the surrounding Zlatni Rt park forest.

?The installations incorporated in the hotel building represent Croatian artists Ivana Franke and Silvio Vuj?i?,? said Silvije Novak, architect and partner 3LHD studio.

?The interior and appearance of the rooms was conceived by 3LHD together with the designer group Numen/For Use? and all the fabrics and staff uniforms are designed by Croatian fashion designers ?I-gle?.

?The environment of the hotel was designed by Rovinj?s ?Studio Kappo?. Because of these interventions and its total artistic value as a unique visual whole, the Lone has already joined the world group of so-called design hotels together with other hotels designed in an especially artistic manner.?.
